| Is our education system at fault? |
Introduction:
A fish climbing a tree.
This phrase is often used when the ability or capability of someone is confined, in a more convincing manner the energy of a person is being put in the wrong direction because the guiding figure in his life has told him that he is made only for this. Throughout his life, he tried hard and failed multiple times and at the apex moments of his life, he starts doubting himself to be a complete failure. We have been through these emotions numerous times, Still, the worst tragedy is some people don't even have a person they can put faith onto, so they can move on from the apex of downfall and go into anxiety and depression, which becomes a volcano within themselves. We must find our passion, what motivates us? Who am I? What do I like to do? etc. We have seen many living examples that speak of how throughout our educational career we don't know what we have an ardent desire to do and commence ourselves in the battle of competing the people we don't even know, and when we are in the mind way of our finishing line, we agonize that this is not we always wanted to do, with this conception we again follow the same course and so on. Let us absorb the former idea with some instances which I am gonna put forth for a cushier apprehension. In our surroundings, most students are not satisfied with what they are learning or have learned but they are forced to do so because it is the dream of their parents or they have accidentally opted for those subjects or the curriculum and teachers don't have adequate knowledge to make them exemplary students, most of the students after having a low GPA found themselves preparing for Civil Service Exams, as it is their only way of doing something magnificent before something else, even some doctors after the completion of their MBBS switch to being a bureaucrat because they found it more satisfying than spending time in hospital, a middle graded Engineering student in the midway of his degree conceive that he should have to do LLB because being a lawyer has its own perks in Pakistan, after blaming the job sector students often found freelancing more gratifying as there is no job in Pakistan for them. So all in all what they have studied isn't a waste of time for them?, because all their 16 Year of educational life they have been put on the wrong lane and when it the time to enter practical life they blame their whole education as a total waste of time or called their degree just a piece of paper, because to their perspective, in market Degree don't matter, only your skills have a high value.
Reason for failure:
Parental Study
Plan:
Multiple reasons can
trigger the students to put a label of failure on them. Let us traverse through
all the points one after another. We already have the apprehension of parental
study plan, which causes the student to become a sandwich between being a doctor
or engineer, because the mother wants him to be an engineer and the
father wants him to be a doctor, this tug of war drags the child in the
nook of the corner where his cognitive function ceases to work and he found no
interest in what he is doing, so when you do something you are not good at you
are bound to become a quack.
Uncertainty about
the future:
Several students opted for the subject they thought was an interesting one. But later on, it hit them hard. Most of the students at Punjab University perceive that it would be a good choice for them if they got elected for PUC-IT, Law, etc. But when things get harder, they lose interest in it. This happens because they have been less guidance from people or they have made the role models to only successful people without having a full background knowledge of their life. The unknown and rapidly changing future also perplexs the students what they should have to do? What would be best for them? What if the job they will choose will be replaced by AI? These question confuses the student about choosing a career.
Nervous habits/Lack
of focus:
Studying in today's era day seems a hard labor, we tend to be tired after studying for one hour and find it an achievement that we have done something majestic, but have you observed whenever we have time and motives to do something, suddenly a lot of variables rises, we open a book, all of sudden a what's app message breaks our conscious concentration and we unconsciously pick the phone to check the message and ultimately start chatting our friends and then we window shop different apps from Facebook to Instagram and after wasting much time we are back to our study, then a friend comes, he says, why are you studying you are already an exceptional student, why do you even need to study, let's go somewhere to spend time. So an activity that starts with opening a book ends up in spending time with friends, this is called nervous habits in ourselves. This can happen from different patterns, you yourself need to identify whether you the slave of your nervous habit or not.
Cyclone of Family
Issues:
A whirlpool that
causes a person's mind to go into a state of restlessness, is the
family problems. A family is a place where a person seeks peace and
solutions to his private problems because when we hit puberty,
problems start striking our heads one after another. Our parents went through
these situations so they become our best guides for our journey of
life, but paradoxically the worst can also happen when we live in a
disturbed family. A boy who is already disturbed by the alien world of
university gets a call from home that his father has died, the family starts to
fall into pieces, and every day there is a war of narrative, the
issues on inheritance, etc. The boy who has this dream of becoming
successful eventually faces the worst of reality. This is
just a stance on how a cyclone of family issues drags the students away from
their studies.
Limiting the mind:
We have confined our
own minds because we think we are a mortal being with limited minds, but in
human history there remained some people who have broken the barrier
of what people called the horizon of the human mind, several examples are
evidence of it, the invention of the phone in it itself is a mystery, for
example, took a Smartphone and how just the functioning of binary number let us
do trillion of calculation within a fraction of second is an astonishing
factor, how the theory of relativity have broken the previous universal
concepts of time and gravity, how does the mechanism of aerodynamics caused a
plane to lift in the sky, these astonishing invasion ultimately human has done
it, so what is stopping us to something like this?
Several other reasons can also cause a student to fail which include monitorial problems, excessive use of social media, societal pressure from primitive families, involvement in a bad company, etc.
Conclusion:
In the culminating
points, I would like to say we should find the passion of us. When passion
meets the profession, man is bound to succeed in life. I want to share Some of the advice I have learned throughout my educational career with you. Here are they:
- Your passion must be equal to your profession.
- You must upgrade yourself according to current knowledge.
- You must have social relations with people.
How do you feel about this? Give a reaction!
